Columbian Chemicals Company and Superior Graphite Form Carbon Nanoparticle Alliance

Columbian Chemicals Company and Superior Graphite today announced the immediate availability of a new class of ultra-high purity carbon nanoparticles offering significantly improved performance properties. The PUREBLACK" Carbon line of products offers a blend of the technologies and economic advantages of both graphite and carbon black to provide customers with innovative solutions in a variety of demanding applications.

Superior Graphite, the world leader in thermally processed performance products derived from carbonaceous raw material, and Columbian Chemicals, one of the world's largest carbon black producers, have jointly developed this new class of products for applications in a wide variety of industries, including energy systems, carbon parts, friction materials, elastomers and plastics.

The PUREBLACK" Carbon line of products is already bringing economically attractive solutions to users in several applications requiring high levels of purity and performance. Commercial quantities of these products are now available, and characteristics such as particle size, morphology and reactivity can be customized to meet a customer's unique needs.
